App: Phone Checkup: Test & Info (package com.amq.phonecheckup)
Last updated: 3 October 2026
Phone Checkup is a utility app that shows information about your phone and lets you run simple hardware checks. This policy explains what the app does with your information. In short: the diagnostic features work on your device, and we do not run any server that collects your personal data. The only data that leaves your device is the data used to show advertising, described below.
1. Information the app reads on your device
To provide its features, the app reads the following information locally. It is displayed to you and is not sent to us or stored on any server:
- Device and system information – model, Android version, chipset, memory, storage, display, battery status, sensors and camera specifications, network status.
- Microphone (Sound Meter) – used only while you press Start, to measure the loudness of surrounding sound. Audio is processed on the device, written to a temporary file that is deleted immediately, and never uploaded.
- Precise location (GPS Speed) – used only while that screen is open, to compute your speed, distance and altitude. Location is processed on the device and is not stored or sent by us.
- Camera – the app reads camera specifications and can switch the flashlight on; it does not take or store photos or video.
- Sensors and Wi-Fi/network details – shown on screen for your information.
You can deny or revoke the microphone and location permissions at any time in your phone's Settings; the rest of the app keeps working.
2. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The app is free and shows ads served by Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, Google's Mobile Ads SDK may collect and use data such as your advertising ID, IP address (and the approximate location derived from it), device information, app interactions with ads, and diagnostic information. This is handled by Google under its own policies: policies.google.com/privacy and how Google uses data from apps that use its services.
- Where required (for example in the EEA, UK and Switzerland) the app shows Google's consent form before personalised ads are used, and you can change your choice later.
- You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of ad personalisation, in your phone's Settings → Privacy → Ads.
- The app offers an optional rewarded video that gives a limited period without ads. The remaining ad-free time is stored only on your device.
3. Data we collect and share
We do not require an account and we do not collect your name, email address, contacts, photos, files or messages. We do not sell personal data. Apart from the advertising data handled by Google as described above, no data is shared with third parties.
4. Data retention and deletion
Because we do not store personal data on our own servers, there is nothing for us to delete. Data kept on your device (such as your ad-free time or temporary files) is removed when you clear the app's data or uninstall it.
5. Children
The app is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
6. Security
Information shown by the app stays on your device. Network communication of the advertising SDK uses encrypted connections provided by Google.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
